The First Afrocenchix Christmas Advert on British TV

We're ecstatic to bring our leading natural Afro hair care brand to British television this Christmas. And it's historic. This is the first ever black hair Christmas advert on British television.

Our commercial, Get it Right This Christmas, airs on Channel 4 from this weekend, 6th November and will run till December.

It follows a woman in a bit of a twist as she tries to get her naturally coiled tresses in shape for Christmas Day. Her comb and bristle brush fail to do the trick. But her kinky curls get just the boost they need when a friend delivers an Afrocenchix gift sent just in time for Christmas.

For our main character, our award-winning products are a breath of fresh hair,  allowing her to “unleash newfound confidence for her big debut”. They're available now from the Afrocenchix Christmas Gift Shop which opened its online doors on November 1st, 2021.

We’re ecstatic to put positive representation on television in the form of a relatable hair story. It’s great to have worked with up and coming poet Aicha Therese for the project and I can’t wait to see how the first ever Afrocenchix Christmas ad on TV is received!

You can get your hands on the products, including gift sets and travel sets in stylish African print beauty bags, as well as a range of accessories, by visiting the gift shop at: afrocenchix.com/collections/christmas. You can join well known fans including Stormzy and former Spice Girl and television presenter Mel B.

When Joycelyn and I met at university in 2008, we talked about representation and beauty standards and it was our dream to showcase the beauty of Afro hair in mainstream media. Growing Afrocenchix and raising investment to scale, has allowed us to do just that. With the seed funds we've been able to grow our team, develop new products, release M’xche the Afrocenchix chatbot and now we've put the UK's first ever Black Hair Christmas ad on the airwaves.

We're pleased to have worked with up and coming stars on our Christmas ad debut. Please share the ad far and wide, and let us know what you think of it!
