Jojoba Oil

What is Jojoba Oil

Native to the desert of the southwest of the United States, Jojoba plants are currently growing in Mexico, southern California, and Arizona. Jojoba is used widely within the beauty and haircare industry for its fantastic properties.

Jojoba Oil (pronounced differently depending on the growth region; 'ho-ho-ba', 'jo-jo-ba' or 'yo-yo-ba') is waxier than many other typical oils used in beauty and health. Jojoba Oil is a golden translucent coloured oil extracted from the seeds of the jojoba plant, which is part of the Simmondsiaceae family.

Why is Jojoba Oil Beneficial

Jojoba Oil is a great ingredient to consider in your skin and hair regime due to its substantial resistance to oxidative degradation aka. The damage and degradation of quality. It is, therefore, a rather stable ingredient to incorporate into your routine with brilliant benefits.

How does jojoba oil benefit hair?

Scalp & Hair Barrier

Claiming to be similar to sebum, an oil our skin produces as a vital part of skin health, the compounds in sebum (like jojoba) aid in maintaining skin health and protecting the skin barrier. Due to its likeness to sebum, jojoba oil can be great to include in your routine to enhance and help protect the skin barrier.

Jojoba Oil features wax esters found in sebum vital to the skin in repairing and keeping your skin barrier protected.

Our Seal - Natural Scalp Oil features splendid ingredients to protect your skin barrier, one of them being jojoba oil. These ingredients will ensure your locks and skin barrier are covered with those beautiful wax esters, providing protection for your curls.

Hair softener & shine

Being a lightweight oil with moisture-filled capabilities, jojoba can be a great way to add shine and moisture to tresses.

By adding a few pumps of Seal - Natural Hair Oil to damp hair, you'll lock in moisture as well as add a silky shine.

Benefits dry hair

Hair lacking in moisture is likely to be prone to breakage and overall damage.

Ensuring your locks contain the proper moisture level is arguably one of the most essential parts of your natural hair routine. Due to jojoba’s, unique sealant properties, it can ensure moisture is locked into the hair to keep breakage to a minimum.

Prevention of hydral fatigue

When the hair follicles are in repeated states of swelling and deswelling, hydral fatigue can occur due to excess hydration penetrating the internal cortex of the hair shaft.

Hydral fatigue may lead to brittle, dull and undefined curls.

Adding a sealing hair oil packed with jojoba to your routine can help lock in moisture and stop curls from taking in further water and over-hydrating by forming a barrier until your next wash day.
