Failed twist out or braid out? Want a low manipulation hairstyle? In need of a reliable go-to style or finding that your wash-and-go is getting frizzy? The puff is a great hairstyle that always looks good and can be done quickly and easily.

This easy updo for curly and natural hair is so versatile that it can be worn in many ways and for almost any occasion and is also known as the pineapple updo (aptly named due to the curls’ resemblance to the beautiful tropical fruit!). Follow the steps below or watch our video tutorial to create the looks yourself.

What You’ll Need:

Styling Tips:

  • Use the Moisture Surge Set when doing the LCO method to moisturise your hair before doing your pretty puff hairstyle.
  • For more definition, why not do a twist out or braid out before doing your puff. This hairstyle also works if your twist out or braid out didn’t go according to plan and you want a style that will save the day.
  • When styling your hair in a puff, remember to be gentle when pulling your hair back so that you don't damage your edges.
  • Coat your finger with a little bit of Seal to minimise frizz when handling your hair.
  • Wear your Afrocenchix satin lined bonnet to bed to make sure your braids/twists don’t get frizzy and your hair retains its moisture.
