3 Ways to Valentine Differently

Valentine's Day is upon us. Whilst we don't think expressing appreciation for your loved ones should be restricted to one day, it's a great reminder of the importance to make time for love. It's also a good time to indulge in a little self-care too, no one can pour from an empty cup. Whether you’re paired up or single, there are plenty of things you can do when it comes to spending time with those you love. Here are a few ideas. 1. Dress up for date night Date nights are always fun, be it with your other half, friends, siblings, cousins or even parents. A date night is an especially great way to do something different with family members you usually don't spend quality time with.  If you want to get dressed up for the occasion, here are some hairstyles to inspire you. 🎬PRESS PLAY▶️Flexi rod set featuring @afrocenchix Sheen natural moisturizing spray and Smooth natural moisturising cream (this is a UK brand, I will post more info on these products shortly). Which style is your favourite 1 or 2?..do you like flexi rods or are they a nightmare 😧?...i just don't like sleeping with them in but let me know what you think in the comments 😀..p.s the elastic bands help the my hair stay attached to the rod and keep the rods in secure under my scarf when I'm sleeping and rolling about the place 😩 #perfectlycurly #howtonaturalhair A post shared by Kinkykoils ☄ (@kinkykoils_) on Nov 13, 2017 at 5:07am PST   2. Celebrate Galentine's Day Popularised by the show Parks and Recreation, Galentine's Day involves setting time aside to celebrate your gal-pals. Female friendships are great support networks — from providing comfort after the eyebrow lady sabotages you (we've all been there) to providing support and accountability to enable you to live your best life.  Having brunch, a movie night, or pot-luck are fun ways to celebrate your friendship. 3. Practise self-care Self-care is about taking time out to recharge. It can be as simple as starting something you've always wanted to do, spending time alone at home or away, starting a new book, deep conditioning your hair, getting your nails done, or doing absolutely nothing.  Self-care can also mean spending time with those you love, but in all cases, it's about doing whatever you need to reenergise.  How will you be spending Valentine's Day?
