This is a time to be there for our families and the vulnerable who need support. Below we offer a few ways to help others, but first a word on the actions we're taking to look after our team and community and keep our customers safe.
Afrocenchix's Coronavirus Measures
Our High Standard of Hygiene and Cleanliness
We have always had a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness. We operate according to Good Manufacturing Practices and ensure all staff wear gloves, face masks, hair nets and lab coats whilst making your products. We sanitise our work stations before and after production. We always take extra care in creating safe products that our families and yours can use with confidence.
Orders and Shipping
Your orders continue to make a big difference to our small business. All orders will continue to be shipped (via Royal Mail) as soon as possible. But please note that due to the Covid-19 pandemic, your order could take longer than usual to arrive and shipping costs might alter. We’re moving as fast as we can to get it to you quickly. Please bear with us and let us know if you haven’t received it after 3 weeks. For more information, please refer to our shipping page.
Our Team
Afrocenchix.com is functioning as normal and every order continues to make us smile. We're taking measures to protect our small team from sickness and this includes working from home and perhaps closing certain functions. Please bear with us if it takes a little longer than usual to get back to your messages.
What You Can Do To Help
Getting groceries can be difficult. We've all seen the pictures of empty supermarket shelves. There's a silver lining. This is a great opportunity to support small business by shopping at smaller retailers who still have full shelves. Remember you can pick up the essentials at lovely independent stores like:
The Health Shop, 28 The Mall, Stratford, London E15 1XD
52-56 Kingsland Rd, London E2 8DP, UK
28 North End Road, London, W14 9NU
171-173 Walworth Road London SE17 1RW
50-52 St Marys Row Moseley Birmingham B13 8JG
41 The Broadway, Crouch End, London N8 8DT
Whilst supporting small, local businesses you can not only help people who are being hit hard by the economic uncertainty, but you can get quality food without a fight. So support ethical small businesses and stock up on Afrocenchix whilst you’re there.
Consider supporting a food bank or even getting groceries for elderly or vulnerable family, friends or neighbours. You can check who is in need nearby you through using an app like Next Door or joining your local Mutual Aid Group.
Look after Yourself and the Wider Community
This pandemic is unsettling. It's also a time to be kind, think of others and appreciate the incredible doctors, nurses, teachers, cleaners, receptionists, lorry drivers and others who are working round the clock to keep people healthy and ensure we can all get the food, medicines and supplies we need.
Look after yourself and please avoid the conspiracy theories and panic-inducing clickbait articles online. Check the official WHO website for news and guidance. Let's take this time to pull together and support each other, especially the most vulnerable.
Love,
Rachael
